Download and access the Captions Desktop app
Sign Up
The app is currently available on all operating systems and browsers and there are two ways to access the desktop app:
- Web App - The Captions Web app is available on all modern browsers and you can sign up at desktop.captions.ai
- Mac App - The official Mac app can be downloaded at captions.ai/download
To sign up, simply open the desktop app in a browser or on the Mac app and simply choose one of the following sign up methods: Apple, Google, or Microsoft. At this time, it is not possible to sign up using an email address and password.
Sign In
To sign in to the Captions Desktop app, simply sign in using the same method you used to sign up. Doing so will ensure you restore your subscription. If you are signing in to a new device or second device, please know that all projects are locally stored and projects are not synced between devices. In other words, projects are only available on the device in which they were created.
Log Out
To log out of the Captions Desktop app, click on “Profile” and then “Log out.” Before logging out of the Captions app, please know that all projects will be deleted as soon as you log out.
Keep the app up to date
We make constant updates to the the app so it is very important to ensure your app is always kept up to date. The good news is that if you are using the web app, the app is automatically kept up to date. If you are using the Mac app, each time you launch the app, you’ll be notified if there is a new version to download.
