How to register for the Captions app

Captions is available on the following platforms:

Sign Up
To register, sign up with one of the following methods:
Sign up with your Google or Gmail account
Apple
Sign up with your Apple ID
Microsoft
Sign up with your Microsoft, Hotmail, our Outlook account
Sign up with your email address
Phone
Sign up with your phone number and enter the 6-digit code
Sign In
After you sign up, you can access your account and subscription on additional devices. Before signing in on a second device, tap or click on Profile to confirm how you’ve signed in. You must sign in with the same method to restore your account and subscription.
Reminder: At this time, all projects and template are locally stored. If you log in on a second device, your projects and templates will not be available.
Restore Subscription
You can restore your account and subscription on a second device, but there are a few limitations. Select your original sign-up method below to see the steps and important details.
If you purchased your subscription on the Apple App Store
If you purchased your subscription on the Apple App Store
- Regardless of the login method you used to sign up (Google, Apple, Microsoft, Phone), if you subscribed on your iOS device, your subscription is paid directly to Apple.
- This means that your subscription can only be restored on Apple devices in which you are logged in with the same Apple ID. In other words, you cannot restore your subscription on a friend or coworkers device. You can only restore on a device that belongs to you (like an iPad)
- You can always restore your subscription on our desktop or Android app by signing in with the same login method you used to sign up.
If you purchased your subscription on the Google Play Store
If you purchased your subscription on the Google Play Store
- Regardless of the login method you used to sign up (Google, Apple, Microsoft, Phone), if you subscribed on your Android device, your subscription is paid directly to Google.
- This means that your subscription can only be restored on Android devices in which you are logged in with the same Google account. In other words, you cannot restore your subscription on a friend or coworkers device. You can only restore on a device that belongs to you (like an Android tablet)
- You can always restore your subscription on other Android devices by signing in with the same login method you used to sign up.

If you purchased your subscription directly on our website
If you subscribed on our desktop or web app, you can restore your subscription on any mobile device or computer by signing in with the login method you used to sign up.
Log Out
If you log out, please know that all projects and templates will be deleted and there is no way to restore them. The ability to view and edit projects on a second device is coming soon.
